The lights of an unknown city

Lights adorn the city like a bride

as the earth embraces darkness.

This city, my new abode-

beautiful yet treacherously deep.

The old domicile a distant,

intangible dream now;

the noises and grandeur of the new one

slowly and silently devouring my time.

Walking through the streets,

discovering new lanes,

savouring dishes different

and enjoying thoroughly

This city has things anew

to offer me everyday.

Stretching her arms toward me,

the land nods like a friend.

There again, the glowing city lights

make me forget my solitary existence.
